End of the year

It's been a superb year in CP - we've had a great year of learning as I am sure you have seen from the last term report cards that you can access via TESmile today.

Next year, the kids will be just across the atrium from us, so we won't be far!

Next week I will send out a summer activity pack, but I am taking this coming week off. If you are looking for English activities to do in the meantime, please go through the notebooks that came home today with your kids, keep up the reading with Oxford Owl, and the Maths and English work with set tasks on Studyladder.

English Day 81

We've been working on shapes for a few weeks now, this week we started to learn about symmetry - finding the line of symmetry and recreating shapes so that they are symmetrical.

English Day 80

Today, we practised using pronouns in our writing. We looked at different ways to make the /ie/ sound - y, igh and i_e, and we focussed on the tricky words could, would and should.

In the afternoon, we did a scientific investigation. We analysed different types of matter and picked out five properties to describe them - the properties were based on size, smell, colour, shape, taste and feel.

English Day 77, 78, 79

The class continues to work well. We're reviewing alternative spellings for long vowel sounds - ai/ay/a_e, ee/ea/e_e, ie/y/i_e, igh, working on using adjectives for story settings, focusing on 2 and 3D shapes. Making art with 2D shapes like Paul Klee's Castle and Moon, rehearsing the Gruffalo, designing the set, making sure we use the past when we speak and write, learning about matter (solids, liquids and gases) and of course doing spelling tests!

Veronique came in to introduce her baby to her FAL students
